New API Released

by mderbyshire on January 25, 2010

January 25th 2010, Vancouver BC., Overinteractive Media is proud to announce the newest release of its dimeRocker platform client. A variety of new features and upgrades have been implemented which will further help unity developers find success on Facebook (MySpace ciming soon!). These include:
v1.0 of our Achievement system
The dimeRocker achievement system is based on a gamer score. Each game is allotted 1,000 points to create achievements with. There are 4 levels of achievements:
- 10 points (bronze)
- 20 points (silver)
- 30 points (gold)
- 40 points (black)
In the drClient, developers can award achievements to the current player. They can also view the current players achievements (title, description, icon, URL, date awarded) as well as view other players achievements for that game.
Social Publishing which allows the posting of scores, achievements and messages to the Facebook wall.
v1.5 of the leaderboard system (improved database structure).
A new dR Client, which has been released as source.
A new game canvas structure, which will later enable fully customizable skinning options.
This new API is part of our on-going beta test which tarted in mid-december, and has recieved several positive reviews:
“I downloaded their API, I created a new profile, read through the easy to follow, short documentation, added a few lines of code to my game, and magic happened: Escape from Planet Zombie can now be played on Facebook”

“You want to put your game on Facebook, mySpace, etc. Each of these sites, however, have their own APIs which you need to learn and adapt for. dimeRocker takes care of this for you.”

We are now looking to take on more beta testers. Interested?
