OverInterActive Media Inc. receives development funding from Telefilm Canada for the feature project, “The Kids Are On Fire”. More than a movie, the project utilizes innovative transmedia and marketing components, deployed via dimeRocker.com, that will both enrich the narrative and promote audience awareness in advance of the film’s release.
“The Kids On Fire” is a raucous ensemble teen comedy set between the last bell on Friday and the first bell on Monday. After a lucrative caper goes horribly wrong, Sarah and her gang of misfits must remedy their predicament before the weekend is through. If not, come Monday, expulsion will be the last of their worries. With their futures in jeopardy, Sarah must devise one last plan to save her friends.
Written by J. Joly, with story editors Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir, the film is slated to begin shooting in Fall 2009. This will be the OMI’s premiere multi-platform project and is expected to coincide dimeRocker’s official Beta launch in early 2010.
